When signing up as a woman looking for a man, we had an ‘offer’ pop up on the screen to suggest that if we add a profile picture and complete our profile we will get access to messaging male users for free.

If you don't do this, you will still have the same limited access like the male users if you don’t upgrade to one of their subscriptions. The prices to upgrade to any of the memberships don’t differ and the features you get when upgrading are exactly the same.

We also noticed that when registering as a female profile, we didn’t seem to have messages flooding in from profiles that didn’t look genuine like we did when registering as a male profile.

A premium feature of theirs where you get to review the members picture and if you’re interested then you can just click ‘yes’, or alternatively if you don’t like the look of their picture, you can click ‘no’ and move onto the next profile. Any member you decide to click ‘yes’ to, ULust will let them know and later notify you if they’re also interested. In order to play the quickie game though, you will need to have added a profile picture beforehand.

Advanced Search Features

They provide you with your basic search features like age, location, newest users only or users online now. However, they do also have a few advanced search filters if you decide to upgrade. Filters where you can search for more detailed profiles or profiles that are your best match, which is helpful in finding compatible individuals without having to waste time searching through people who have nothing in common with you.

Private Chat

A feature which allows you to have a free flowing conversation with each member through their instant messenger. Neither you nor the other member have to wait for your message to be delivered, as soon as they send a reply you will be able to read and respond within seconds which will help keep the conversation going.

Safety & Security

ULust, like most dating sites, suggest they treat their security seriously in order to keep their users safe. However, there are a few issues we came across when using the site which made us question how safe and secure it really is.

In their terms and conditions point 4, they mention that they use fantasy profiles identified as ‘fantasy cuties’ and that you agree sometimes you might be speaking to these fictitious profiles instead of a real person. This didn’t sit too well with us especially when there's a lack of verification, so it's nearly impossible to tell which user is genuine. They mention that it's for amusement purposes only, which would be fine if we weren't paying to message, considering the prices we have to pay, they should have something in place to differentiate a genuine profile to a fictitious profile.

On top of this they class themselves as an ‘entertainment service’ that is in the style of an ‘online dating service’. This made us question whether any of the profiles are actually genuine because if they were, they would explicitly state they are a dating site. We also had a lot of fake messages flood into our inbox as soon as we signed up, even when we didn’t have a photo on our profile, which was another red flag for us.

Conclusion

Overall, ULust.com is only good if you’re looking for temporary entertainment and some attention. If you’re someone who is looking for face to face meets, it might be quite difficult for you to find that especially when they don’t class themselves as a dating site and admit to using ‘fantasy cuties’ for entertainment purposes.

Along with the amount of fake profiles we came across and the lack of verification, it's very difficult to tell if the person you’re speaking to is genuine or not. After registering on the site, the amount of messages flooding in before we even added a profile picture, for us it wasn’t realistic and didn’t make us feel too comfortable. We would have liked to see the site put a verification process in place where each member has the option to add a blue tick or something similar to prove they’re genuine, this would have saved us a lot of time when searching for someone real.

The overall usability of the site is good, it’s user friendly and easy to navigate through the different areas and sections on the site. The site's features are quite basic though, especially for the price they’re charging. We feel there are other competitors out there who offer a lot more, for similar prices or possibly cheaper. The basic free registration also offers very little, we were frustrated with the limited access that came with this, the only thing you could really do was browse the site and view a few profiles, if you want to do anything else then you need to upgrade to one of their memberships.
