As a lesbian online dating site, first and foremost, the site claims to offer a platform for women in the LGBTQ+ community where they can remain anonymous and discreet and keep their private information hidden.

In the review below, we review everything you need to know about LDate before you connect to the site. Learn about its dating features, whether its safety claims are true, and any possible costs the site has. Additionally, you’ll find out what its registration process and profile creation are like to hopefully decide whether this is the lesbian dating site for you!

Considering you can only sign up as a woman on the site, it’s no wonder they only cater to two sexualities:

What we found quite interesting about LDate is that while they do cater to the women of the LGBTQ+ community, they do not feature any options for Transgender or transsexual women. We review their gender options in more detail in our registration process section below.

Registration Process

LDate, at first glance, seems to be doing a good job in keeping the registration process quick and straightforward, initially only requesting some basic information about the user and the people they are looking for:

• Age from: 18 to 99
• Country / Area
• State / Province

The last two were automatically filled in with our current location; however, you can still change the country and state manually if you’d rather find girls online outside your area. Once all the information presented above is filled in, you will be asked to insert your email address and agree to the site’s Service Agreement and Privacy Policy.

The registration process then expands as the site presents the user with a couple of step-by-step pages with the information inserted in the registration form filled in. All you have to do is click “Continue” to quickly review them, or you can change the information you initially inserted in the form. You will then be asked to create a password for your account, insert your age and preferred username.

Once all that information is added, you will be directed to their 6-step forms covering the following:

• Your height
• Your ethnicity
• Your relationship status
• Create a headline for your profile
• Create a profile description about yourself
• Describe your perfect match and relationship dynamic

Once everything is filled up, you must upload a photo of yourself, a step that cannot be skipped and goes against their claims of keeping their users anonymous and discreet.

Once all these have been added, you can finally access the site. However, you’ll still have to verify your email address before discovering your potential matches.

For those who don’t like leaving a bare dating profile, L Date includes all the info provided during registration in your profile. However, there are still a few other fields that you can fill in if you’d like.

The first section of your profile will be nearly completely filled with the info you already provided. The only thing missing is a field for “My favourite is,” which asks for your general likes. These can be anything from music and bands to sports, food, or even charity organisations.

Moving forward, there are 4 other profile sections, the first one requiring you to describe your body type, eye color, and hair color. The next section is the most extensive, and the one with the least amount of information already filled up. You’ll be able to insert details on your:

The next session is quite straightforward. It is titled “My personality” and asks the user to describe what they are like and how they would describe themselves and their personality. Finally, to complete your profile on LDate, you will have to clarify the kind of relationships you are looking for. You can choose from friendships, casual relationships, and even marriage.

App & Mobile Compatibility

No LDate app is available to download, but the site has been optimised to work on mobile devices through browsers. And while the site does work, it is not very optimised. In fact, the main homepage looks slightly compressed on a mobile screen. The hamburger menu does not include the same tabs as the desktop version and even some of the posts on their homepage are hard to read through.

Features

Discover

L Date’s Discover section allows you to search for other girls on the site with basic filters like age, location, and whether they have photos on their profiles. If you wish to, you can also save your search filters and sort your search based on new, old, young, and recently active members. You can also do the same based on how many images they uploaded on their profile and their distance from your current location.

Finally, the “Discover” tab has different filters based on the different sections of a user’s profile. You can filter the results based on their ethnicity, religion, relationship status, smoking habits, drinking habits, whether they have or want children, and height.

Community

The Community menu tab has two sections: The FLAME and First Date Ideas sections. The first of the two is your typical swiping game popularised by Tinder, where you have to click on the “x” or “heart” icon to like or skip their profile.

The latter section of the Community tab is all about sharing your ideas for first dates. Users of LDate are urged to write their own ideas of what a perfect date looks like, which vary from a coffee date to a romantic dinner at an expensive restaurant. You can comment on these posts and upvote them (or “like” them). It is among the best ways to interact with the L Date com community while also letting people know you are online and available for a chat!

My Lists

My Lists features various filtering options based on the different actions you can take on the site. These can be through a feature that they have or even different posts you might be making. The first section of lists will present you with the profiles of others on the site who liked you, viewed your profile, winked at you, those you were mutually matched together, and the profiles you liked through the FLAME feature.

The second section covers the requests the user receives from others for more images on their profile, publicly or privately. This also includes all of their own requests to other profiles and private access to images the user has already received.

As far as affordability is concerned, LDate.com is at a good middle ground, offering three periods of time for its premium membership, each featuring the same type and amount of perks. As a membership-based dating site, LDate.com is quite transparent about the fact that each of its plans renews at the end of the billing period until the user manually cancels.

Limitation Of Liability

Going through L Date’s service agreement, our attention was immediately overtaken by paragraph 8, titled “Limitation Of Liability.” It states that it will not be held liable for any damages or losses caused by its platform. While we can understand not being held liable for their users’ interactions with each other, the fact that they clarify that this stands for the inability to use the site's features is worrying.

This means that if the site has a bug that prevents its users from properly using it, it cannot and will not be held responsible. They also clarify that this also counts for any possible profits lost; however, they do not clarify if this counts for their premium membership payments.

Sharing Of Information

LDate is quite transparent about its use of your data, clarifying everything in its Privacy Policy. While it has the same clauses as most dating sites regarding data analytics tools, it is also not shy about forwarding its users’ information to third parties.

They are transparent about certain third parties being advertising networks but also mention “Traffic influencers.” As they explain, as a user, you have consented to them disclosing your personal information with people or companies they partner with. They go on to say that this is only done to attract more traffic to the site, and while this is something that often happens nowadays, you can’t know who is receiving your personal information and what they are actually doing with it.

Conclusion

LDate stood out nicely compared to some of our other dating site reviews. It features not only competitive prices for its premium membership plans but also helpful features for single women. As a site that specialises in lesbian and bisexual relationships between women, it does a good job of bringing its users together and creating a community online for them.

On the other hand, there were a few things that did strike us as odd. We originally signed up as a woman in the UK, but we were unable to find a single match in our area. Most (if not all) profiles on the site come from the US and Canada, limiting lesbian and bisexual women outside those areas.

So, considering the above, if you’re on a budget and living in the US or Canada, LDate might be the place to be if you want to find your other half. The site caters best to lesbian and bisexual women, so if you are trans, you might have better luck on some other dating website. All in all, we’d say give the site a try!
